In recent times the marketing department has gained a new channel: mobile devices. Here are a few ideas on how to take advantage of this emerging technology before your competitors do...
Consumers love to receive special offers and mobile is a great way to personalise this. Whether you use an app or SMS, send out targeted messages to promote your business.
Embed mobile marketing messages into your business processes and use them to up-sell or cross-sell. For example confirm an appointment by SMS but include a coupon to get a discount on a second service. A customer could be persuaded to install a marketing app by including a special offer with the app.
Consider using QR codes - they're huge in Japan (literally huge as we have seen one painted on the side of a building). They are a great way of getting information onto your mobile device without any typing - e.g. a business card, a specification for a product, a website URL etc. They are also another mechanism for getting that all important marketing coupon to your customer. We believe this technology will eventually be replaced with Near Field Communication, but while it's here - use it!
Here is an example of a QR Code. Scan it with your phone's barcode reader to get to a web-page which gives you a special offer.
